Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
ProofKit ("we", "our", "us") helps you document timelines for personal and professional cases. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our website and mobile app (iOS and Android).
Information we collect
- Account information: email address and profile details when you create an account.
- Case content: timeline names, event dates, notes, photos, videos, audio recordings, and documents you upload. On Android, you select photos and videos through the system photo picker (one-time access); we do not request broad gallery access.
- Usage data: basic diagnostics and crash logs to keep the service reliable.
- Subscription data: purchase and entitlement status processed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Billing, and RevenueCat.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve ProofKit.
- Authenticate you and sync your cases across devices.
- Send service-related emails (e.g. collaboration invites).
- Process subscriptions through the Apple App Store and Google Play via RevenueCat.
Storage and security
Data is stored using Google Firebase (cloud infrastructure). We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No system is 100% secure; use a strong password and keep your device secure.
Data retention
You can delete individual cases you own at any time. If you delete your account in the app, your account data, cases, events, and uploaded media are permanently deleted.
If your ProofKit Plus subscription ends, your two oldest cases remain active and editable. Additional cases are moved to a read-only archived state for 30 days, then permanently deleted unless you resubscribe to Plus.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. You may invite collaborators to specific cases; they can see content you share with them. We use subprocessors to operate the service, including Firebase (hosting and data storage), RevenueCat (subscription management), Apple (payment processing for iOS subscriptions), Google Play Billing (payment processing for Android subscriptions), and Mailgun (transactional email).
Your choices
- Access or update account information in the app.
- Delete cases you own.
- Delete your account in the app: Profile → Subscription → Delete Account (password required). This permanently deletes your account and all associated data.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings (iOS) or Google Play subscription settings (Android).
Children
ProofKit is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
